Enjoy a unique trip to Sei Gohong Tourism Village and Orangutan Island (Kaja) along the Rungan River. From your hotel/guest house, you will be transferred by car to Sei Gohong Port, then continue by boat.
Kaja Island is a conservation and reintroduction area managed by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF), where rehabilitated orangutans are released back into nature. During the tour, you will observe the orangutans from the boat (no landing on the island) while enjoying the natural scenery of Kalimantan.
The visit lasts about 2 hours, then you will return to your hotel/guest house in Palangka Raya.
ITINERARY
In the morning or afternoon, leave the hotel/guest house by car to go to the Sei Gohong tourist village. This village is one of the villages inhabited by Dayak people who are native Kalimantan residents with local wisdom. Arriving at the port continues preparations, briefing and socialization of entry regulations for visitors. Travel to Orangutan Island along the Rungan River using a boat that adjusts to passenger capacity. visitors sit in the boat and are not allowed to walk on the island.
After reporting your arrival to the guard post, then around Kaja Island to see where wild orangutans have been released so they can socialize and adapt to nature. This orangutan island is a conservation and reintroduction area for wild orangutans managed by the BOSF (Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation-Nyaru Menteng).
Continue to follow the rules and directions from local managers. The length of the visit to Orangutan Island is approximately 2 hours.After completing your visit to the island, take a short break at the port and continue the journey back to the hotel/guest house in Palangka Raya city. Arrive at the Hotel the tour is finished and thank you for your visit.
