Embark on a 3-day, 2-night adventure starting from Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, where you will journey deep into the heart of Kutai National Park. This experience offers the rare opportunity to witness orangutans in their natural habitat, explore lush rainforests, and enjoy both day and night treks to encounter the park’s incredible wildlife. With comfortable arrangements at the ranger camp, this journey combines adventure, nature, and unforgettable moments in one of Borneo’s most remarkable conservation areas.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Berau – Derawan (L, D)
- Meeting Point: Berau Airport / Berau City
- 08:00 – 10:30 Airport pick-up and transfer to Tanjung Batu
- 10:30 – 13:00 Land trip to Tanjung Batu Harbor
- 13:00 – 13:30 Speedboat transfer to Derawan Island
- 13:30 – 16:30 Check-in at accommodation, lunch, and rest
- 16:30 – 18:00 Afternoon walk to Derawan icon & sunset at the jetty
- 18:00 – 19:00 Free time for shower & prayers (for those who perform)
- 19:00 – 21:00 Dinner and briefing for the next day’s activities
Day 2: Maratua – Kakaban – Sangalaki – Gusung (B, L-Box, D)
- 07:00 – 09:00 Breakfast at accommodation
- 09:00 – 10:00 Snorkeling with tropical fish at BMI
- 10:00 – 12:00 Visit Sanggalau Derawan, photos & videos at the sandbar
- 12:00 – 13:00 Lunch and rest
- 13:00 – 14:00 Snorkeling with sea turtles
- 14:00 – 16:00 Snorkeling at Coral Garden, Derawan
- 16:00 – 18:00 Return to accommodation while enjoying the sunset
- 17:00 – 19:00 Rest and refresh
- 19:00 – 21:00 Dinner at Derawan restaurant
- 21:00 onwards: Briefing and free program
Day 3: Derawan – Berau (B, L)
- 07:00 – 07:30 Breakfast at accommodation
- 07:30 – 08:30 Transfer to Maratua Island
- 08:30 – 09:30 Photo session at Maratua Paradise
- 09:30 – 10:00 Transfer to Halo Tabung Cave
- 10:00 – 11:00 Jumping & swimming at Halo Tabung Cave
- 11:00 – 11:30 Transfer to Kehe Daeng
- 11:30 – 12:00 Enjoy the beauty of Kehe Daeng
- 12:00 – 13:00 Snorkeling with stingless jellyfish
- 13:00 – 13:30 Lunch at Kakaban Island
- 13:30 – 14:00 Snorkeling at Kakaban Wall
- 14:00 – 14:30 Transfer to Sangalaki Island
- 14:30 – 15:30 Observe manta rays or baby turtles at Sangalaki
- 15:30 – 16:30 Return to Derawan
- 16:30 – 18:00 Sunset at accommodation
- 18:00 – 19:00 Free time for shower & rest
- 19:00 – 21:00 Dinner and next-day briefing
Day 4: Derawan – Berau (B, L)
- 07:00 – 09:00 Breakfast at accommodation
- 09:00 – 09:30 Transfer to Tanjung Batu
- 09:30 – 13:00 Drop-off at Kalimarau Airport / Berau City
- End of tour – see you again on the next trip!
Notes:
- Arrival and departure schedules will be adjusted according to participant’s flight
- Pleas choose the earliest morning flight arriving at Tanjung Redeb, Berau
- For departure, select a flight after 13.00 to ensure enough time for transfer
- Itenerary may change depending on local conditions and weather
